PERSONNEL DEPARTMENT

As a department, we are committed to assisting both our current, former and prospective employees with their questions or concerns involving their employment. We believe that this is the best DISTRICT in the state of Mississippi and it is because of the hardworking and dedicated employees we have in this district! It is through our employees that we can offer the best education and opportunities possible for the students of Lowndes County.

As of September 4, 2012, we will no longer accept paper applications.

The fingerprinting fee for new employees and substitutes is $20.00
(exact cash or money order only) to cover the processing of necessary reports.

Fingerprinting is done by appointment only!

To be considered for a non-certified position in the Lowndes County School District, an applicant must have:

  • A high school diploma or a G.E.D. certificate, vocational certificate or college degree.
  • If you are applying for an assistant teacher or substitute teacher’s position you must have:
  • Completed at least 2 years of study (48 semester hours) at an institution of higher education; or
  • Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree; or
  • Taken the Mississippi Test: ACT WorkKeys
    (We need an official transcript issued from the college, not a computer printout)

Applications will not be considered for employment if not complete.

Complete status is:

  • Employment Application
  • Copy of high school diploma, G.E.D certificate and/or official transcript
  • 3 Recommendation forms

To be considered for a certified position in the Lowndes County School District, an applicant must have:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
  • A valid Mississippi educator license or proof of eligibility for licensure (a letter of eligibility from a college/university or Mississippi Department of Education).

Applications will not be considered for employment if not complete.

Complete status is:

  • Employment Application
  • Valid MS Teaching License
  • Official Transcript(s)
  • Praxis, CMEE or NTE scores
  • 3 Recommendation Forms
